Tom's Arcihves

Once upon a time in a far away land (Kansas I think) there was a little boy (probably about 9 or 10 years old)
who wasn't very good in school. Oh he was smart and all that but he just didn't try hard enough, and besides
that he was kind of rowdy and difficult to settle down in the classroom. Well, as was the custom of that time
there were certain special days called.."grade card days"... As you might imagine these were rather dark days
for the little boy in our story.(we'll call him Bobby)  After school one particular "grade card day" we find Bobby
terribly sad as he walks slowly across the playground heading for home and  a very unhappy Dad. It was times
like these that Bobby wished he was a better student and wasn't always getting in trouble with his teachers, but
it was too late to try harder and besides he had tried harder lots of times... it seems like trying harder  just
didn't work for Bobby. Each miserable step brought him one foot closer to big trouble at home. There was
absolutely nothing that could be done, little Bobby was heading for doomsville. About that time Bobby heard
another kid call his name, he turned to look and saw his 6th grade buddy Josh. Now talk about "opposites"
Josh was about as different from Bobby as you could get. traight A's, never in trouble, always did his home
work, etc, it was a miracle that Josh even talked to Bobby, but somehow they were friends. "What's up
Bobby?" asked Josh, "Bad news report card" replied Bobby,"I'm headed for the gallows, my Dad is going to
kill me for sure." "Sure enough looks pretty scary" commented Josh as he looked over the death sentence
report card. Neither boy spoke as they walked along together towards home. After a few moments, Josh
thoughtfully stopped and said, "Bobby give me your report, you take mine... I'll take your report
card home to my Dad and you take my report card home to your Dad....and we'll see each other in the
morning."  and that's just what he did.. He took my report card home to His Dad and received my punishment..
I took His report card home to my Dad and received His approval....and yes I'll see Him in the morning.

Friends that's the great and almost unbelievable Good News.
Don't let anybody talk you out of your free gift report card. He paid a terrible price to give it to you.
Don't you just love Him. I do.... Bobby

Oneness, unity, joined together, no longer two but one. Marriage? Our relationship with God? The Church? All
three. Why? What's the point and purpose of two separate beings becoming one being? To say the least it is a
"super" natural thing. In other words it is perfectly natural and appropriate but only achieved by a "super"
element. That "super" element is God. Only God can make two into one. Both as demonstrated by marriage
and Christianity. In fact the Lords prayer (John 17:21) Jesus praying to the Father that we may be one even as
the Father and the Son are One. Why? How? So what? One is one, but two are not one +one, but many more.
This is a mystery of compound multiplication that defies human logic. We are taught in the world to retain and
project "self". Not to give ourselves or our identity to any one. The Scripture says that we are "hidden in Christ".
? from whom?  What does that say about asserting our person? We can't even find our "person". God is the
beginning of all. All things that exist came from Him. All things will return to God and God will be "All in All".
God has gathered us up in Christ so as to bring us into Himself. This is and was God's will from the very first
act of "separation". This is God's plan and it glorifies God alone. To God be the Glory great things He has
done. Back to...why? Simply stated it is a process of creation. God is creating us into His image. We will be
like Him... Our oneness with Him causes us to decrease as He increases. We are growing so much into Him
that we will become as He is. Joined together...Union with...In Christ...Christ in  you... Baptized into Jesus by
the Holy Spirit and Baptized into the Holy Spirit by Jesus. Immersed...covered up...buried...nothing left outside.
Are you getting the picture? The power and magnificence of His person is becoming our power and
magnificence. Identity is key. He became you...Now you become Him. Sound heady? too lofty? weird? Pray
and check it out for yourself. I think you might be heading for a revelation blessing.

One in Him,

Spirit Building

Body building is in vogue.. I concur it is a good thing to have a healthy body and if exercise, diet and weight
training is what it takes then lets do it....... but...... I guess that just "knowing " isn't quite enough. May the Lord
himself encourage us to follow through and strengthen our outer man for the ministry that lies ahead.
Jude: 20. (KJV) "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost".
(Amplified) "But you, beloved, build yourselves up (founded) on your most holy faith (make progress, rise like
an edifice higher and higher), praying in the Holy Spirit".

1 Corinthians 14: 4 (KJV) "He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself"
(Amplified) "He who speaks in a (strange) tongue edifies and improves himself"

Paul says in verse 15 of 1st Corinthians 14 "What is it then?  I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the
understanding also;  I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also".
(Amplified) "Then what am I to do?  I will pray with my spirit (by the Holy Spirit within me), but I will also pray
(intelligently) with my mind and understanding.  I will sing with my spirit (by the Holy Spirit within me), but I will
sing (intelligently) with my mind and understanding also".

I believe "Praying in the Holy Spirit" in Jude 20,  is a direct reference to praying in tongues, as found in 1st
Corinthians 14.  Un-intelligent but none the less a very important exercise in building up the "spirit" man.

Have you worked out today?  Do you exersize daily? Do you pray in the Holy Spirit every day?
I guess that just "knowing " isn't quite enough. May the Lord himself encourage us to follow through and
strengthen our spirit man for the ministry that lies ahead.

I wonder if "spirit building" will ever be in vogue?

We are Believers

In the bible Christians are called "believers".  Most people think that Christianity is centered on what you do and don't do. Actually Christianity is centered on what you believe, and what you believe makes a big difference in what you do. I contend that everything a person does is a direct result of what that person believes. If your belief system is not Gospel centered you will default to a performance mentality and ultimately use law (there are lot's of law systems) to measure your performance.... Problem.... Law is not designed to make a person do good but it is designed to make a person look bad. This is very frustrating to a Christian who is trying to "be Good". How long are we willing to cover up our failure and frustration before we "believe" the Gospel and quit believing in ourselves and the law to make us something that the Gospel says we already are?

(Remember, we are called Believers)

My Childhood Home
Tom Green

Last summer I went home, to the home of my childhood,
To a house no longer standing, to a town no longer there,

I found the old school yard, where I played as a child,
On the wooden teeter-totter and the old merry-go-round.

I walked along a broken sidewalk, beside a street of weeds unmown
Then I found Mamma's iris and what was left of our old home.

I could tell where the house was by the flowers and the trees
I found a rusty piece of chain from my sisters' front yard swing.

The sun baked like an oven but it was cool beneath the trees,
As I sat and I pondered… about a world that used to be,

I think the sound that spoke the loudest was the silence in the air…
It spoke of change... it spoke of seasons...
It spoke of those who were not there.

But I could almost hear the laughter... I could almost hear the sounds...
Of a family's life together in this little Kansas town.

Mamma's gone... Daddy too... seasons come I know,
But after all our years together it's hard to let them go,

But Jesus is our Savior, Jesus is our hope,
and Jesus is the builder of our new heavenly home,
We will all be together, and laugh again we will,
Time and seasons… no longer,
In our home that Jesus builds.

Why is it a struggle to believe the New Covenant?
(some food for your thoughts)

Luke 5:39 KJV “No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new; for he saith, the old is better.”
Answer:   Jesus says; “The new is better.”

of the Law and the Prophets that we can't think straight.

We have not believed or submitted ourselves to ascribed Righteousness.
Answer:   Turn away from the old way (repent) and believe the Gospel.
The Grace Gospel Promise of God's Ever Abiding Presence
...and my guarantee of success in life.

  Hebrews 13:5-6… Joshua 1:5-9
Read these scriptures in an Amplified Bible... then make them your own...

No man (or spirit) can stand in my way all the days of my life..
As God was with Moses, so He is with me.

God is with me..
God will not fail me..
God will not forsake me..
I will be STRONG..
I will be CONFIDENT..
I will be of GOOD COURAGE..

I will cause the people of my generation to inherit the “PROMISED REST” of the finished work of Christ..
Which God has sworn to their Fathers to give them.

ONLY I.. BE STRONG (just me.. that's enough)
ONLY I.. BE VERY COURAGEOUS (just me.. that's enough)
ONLY I..  BELIEVE AND ACT ON THE GOSPEL (just me.. that's enough)
I will not turn from the Gospel of Grace to the right hand.. (my strength)
I will not turn from the Gospel of Grace to the left.. (the strength of others)
              So that..

The Word of the GOSPEL shall not Depart out of my mouth..
I will meditate on it day and night..
                 So that..
I will observe, believe and act according to all that is written in it.
                 For then..
I shall make my ways to prosper..
I will deal wisely..
I will have good success..

My GOD has commanded me:

More sweet revelation of Daddy God thru the
Holy Spirit of His Only begotten Son Jesus

Read again Luke 15.. Especially verses 17 - 32

I will get up.. go to my Father.. and say:

Jesus Christ has taken away all my sin against
heaven and in your sight.

I am now worthy to be called and recognized as your son.

I receive your kisses.

I receive your best, festive, official robe of Righteousness.

I receive your very own beautiful signet ring of authority upon my hand.

I receive your sandals of peace.

I will eat of the fatted calf, reserved and prepared just for my return.

I will now rejoice with you in the presence of your host of angels.

Yes it is right that we all rejoice and enjoy a celebration, because I was dead, but now I am alive.
I was lost, but now I am found.

You have led me home, and you Father, are filled with joy.

Thank you Father
Thank you Jesus
Thank you Holy Spirit
